Would a RephiLe replacement cartridges damage my lab water system?
The RephiLe replacement cartridge is unlikely to damage a water system.
Mechanical fitting of our cartridge fits perfectly on the original system. Other then mechanical fitting, there are basically two sub-systems in a lab water machine: the electric monitoring and control system and water flow system. Cartridge is a consumable in the water flow path, not a part of the electric monitoring and control system. Thus it has no impact on electric part of a water system.
The other sub-system is the flow system where cartridges are part of it. RephiLe replacement cartridges have the similar internal design of flow path and water flux to the original cartridges, and are constructed from similar materials, thus do not change working conditions for the RO pump or the recirculation pump in the system. No other hardware is involved. A RephiLe cartridge is not likely to have any impact on the hardware of a water flow system.
Up till now, we have not heard the original water system manufacturers questioning whether a generic replacement cartridge would damage the water system.
Consumables generally can be replaced with other brands. For example, generic chromatography columns and UV lamps in HPLC chromatography are very common. Generic printer ink cartridges are even more common.
